We advocate change in our food system
BY CHANGING OUR EATING HABITS, WE CAN SUPPORT IMPROVED HEALTH.
It is imperative to understand the science of food, and the impact food has on our body and mind.
Today, there are 690 million chronically undernourished people in our world. Nearly 3 billion people are unable to afford a healthy diet, and poor-quality diets are linked with 11 million deaths per year. Our world is failing to reduce malnutrition and deliver a sustainable food supply for all.
As consumers we hold the power to shift the demand for environmentally and socially responsible and healthy products through our buying power. Consumers are a major force in the global economic system, with our purchases representing about 60% of the world’s GDP.
This gives us power to also impact our food systems in determining how and what products will be produced. We have the power to create a healthier food system through our food choices. If we stand together and buy products that not only foster vibrant health but also support sustainable production values, we can drive positive change for future generations.

AgTech
THE FUTURE OF SUSTAINABLE FOOD PRODUCTION
With the launch of our fully enclosed AgTech farm, the first of its kind, we are changing the way food is grown, used and distributed.
AgTech enables us to grow sustainably, harvesting exceptional produce every week, all year round. We use less energy, 95% less water and no nasties of any kind. We control all aspects of the growth cycle, promoting maximum freshness and nutritional value.
We’re key to innovating new AgTech growing methods. Our experience of the growing process and commercialisation of fast turn-around crops has exponentially progressed the product development and the use of AgTech farming systems commercially here in Australia.
Our AgTech growing solution has massive potential to revolutionise farming in NSW and deliver crops when faced with unfavourable growing conditions like drought, heat, fires or torrential rains.
We are driving technology and innovation for future food systems. Our approach to technology is a key driver for purpose driven business growth.
Our aim is to offer a resilient and sustainable food supply all year round.
Our approach to technology is a key driver for purpose driven business growth while considering climate change and sustainability.
Time is running out for millions of people losing their lives, homes and livelihoods to climate change. Unpredictable weather systems, drought, rains and fires means more opportunities from a technological perspective, we need to create resilient food supplies in times of disaster – we are proud to launch the first of many sustainable farms across Australia here in Byron Bay.
Driving future food systems
The demand for sustainable food is growing due to the impending effects of climate change and rising population, expected to surpass nine billion by 2050.
Sustainable farming, organic, and hyperlocal produce – there is a lot to learn about the food we consume. As more people become aware of the importance of sustainability practices in relation to climate awareness, it becomes even more important to know not only about how your food was grown, but also how your food choices impact our world.
We need to be planning for the future as well as providing for the present.
Our food systems today, drive a third of greenhouse gas emissions (25%-30% of total). At the same time, the impacts of climate change is affecting the way our food is produced and the quality of our diets. A consumer shift towards more sustainable products and a healthier diet could, reduce green house gasses emissions by 41 – 74%, while boosting health, productivity, growth and resilience to climate shocks – reducing the number of climate induced diseases and deaths.
According to Global Panel on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition’s new Foresight Report, our food systems can be transformed to provide healthy diets for all, while mitigating climate change, boosting biodiversity and delivering new jobs in low- and middle-income countries. We need to build back better post COVID-19, and ensure food systems are delivering triple wins for people, the planet, and prosperity.
Sustainable farming, or sustainable agriculture, is simply a way of farming so our future agriculture, environment and economies are protected.
